SF-based furniture makers Knife & Saw developed a solid walnut shelf that’ll cooly keep your bike suspended in place, while allowing plenty of room on top for things like books, flowers, and picture frames.

Hands Solo

You should always have hand soap in the bathroom and also at the kitchen sink. Bars of soap are messy. Go for something that is simple and not offensive to the eye. Select a clean fragrance, something that is not over powering. Also don’t forget to have a hand towel for your guests to dry their hands off on.

You may have read my post on replacing and getting rid of those holey unmentionables. And some of you are too lazy to do so unless your girlfriend or mother is replenishing them. Manpacks is your solution! They are a Providence-based company that sells men’s underwear, socks, and undershirts on a subscription basis. Sign up to get a delivery of new undergarments every three months. Each pack costs about $14 to $70, depending on the number of items and the brands ordered. Check them out: manpacks.com/

- Confirm your plans with her and the restaurant ahead of time so there is no mix up or lost reservation.
- Wash your car if you plan to drive and pick her up or drop her off.
- If you wear cologne, fragrance an hour before you meet so it has time to set and not overwhelming
- Manscape (assuming you will get lucky that night)
- Brush and floss your teeth. It’s also a good idea to pack floss and gum for emergencies.
- Iron your shirt.
- Check the facial hair. Make sure you are well groomed and don’t have any stragglers (this includes the brows, ears, and nose).
- Clean your sheets (at minimum make your bed) and clean your bathroom if you think she may come over. You never know.
- This is a given but don’t forget the rubbers.
Investment Pieces

Your staple pieces in your wardrobe are worth the investment. They are the items of clothing that you’re going to wear most often. These include:
- Casual light-mid weight jacket
- Rain/Waterproof/windbreaker shell
- Nice/designer dark wash jeans
- Hoodie
- Blazer
- Wool coat
- Comfortable casual shoe
- Flip Flops
- Great soft undershirts/t-shirts
- Everyday belt
- Watch
- Wallet
- Suit
When you shop, don’t just look for the best deal. Love every piece of clothing that is going to be adding to your wardrobe so that you’ll want to wear that piece everyday. This ensures regular rotation in actually being worn and not ending up in the bottom of your dresser, never to be seen again. When filling those voids and picking out those pieces you need/want, look for diversity in being able to wear it in different situations and with other pieces in your wardrobe. Don’t buy something you don’t know what you’d wear it with. If you have no clue, check out the mannequins in the store to give you clues. Look for special details about that piece that make it a little special/different that reflect your style or personality. Or go for the uber classic that will never go out of style. It’s always nice to be in trend. But remember trends only last for so long. It may be decades before it’s back in trend and typically closets don’t have that kind of storage capacity. Just make sure you can flaunt it successfully before you roll outta the house with a fedora on looking like a douche.
Crud

For those of you who are lucky enough to have a dishwasher- I hope you are using it and not using it to just store your tupperware like most Asians. And my next hope is that you are not pre-washing everything before you put it in the dishwasher. When I was a child and watching my mom do the dishes (I didn’t help because I was a spoiled) I never understood why she was washing them before she put them in the dishwasher. Why even bother dishwashing them if you have to wash them all by hand first. Well it’s because of all the crap that sticks and remains on the dishes and silverware.
For one that’s not very “green” of you to wash the dishes twice. But I have your solution! Cascade Detergent Action Packs! I NEVER prewash my dishes. I throw them in all crusty and with food all over them and they come out sparkling clean! And my dishwasher isn’t fancy and from the 70s. Try them out.

It’s all about your attitude! Believe in yourself, and others will believe in you. You can smell the confidence off someone like Sheen. Smells like Wining!- or coke and pussy. I’m not saying I particularly condone his behavior and gallivanting but he shows no insecurities and beams confidence like no other. Nothing is more of a turn on than someone who can carry confidence. Concentrate on believing and focusing on your strengths while remembering to work on your weaknesses. Remember, you are a baller. Now carry yourself like one!
Affordable Art

Ikea Olunda $39.99, Avalisa Boston Terrier Poster $34.99, De Young Museum Satellite View of San Francisco Poster $35, Zero per Zero Seoul Railway Poster $23.50
Like I’ve mentioned before in my Wall Decals post art ain’t so cheap. Here are some of my favorite alternatives. Posters are always affordable alternatives but keep them classy by not just scotch taping them to the wall or using push pins- we’re not in college dorm rooms anymore. At the least 3M makes Poster Adhesive Strips. More expensive alternatives would be use a poster hanger kit, have it mounted on gator or foam board, or have it custom framed which will be alot more expensive than you think. If you choose to get it frammed I suggest taking it somewhere like Cheap Pete’s in the Inner Richmond or better yet take it to Michael’s Crafts and use their 40-50% off custom framing coupon that you can get off line weekly.

Her ego that is. Who doesn’t love words of affirmation? Just don’t lay it on her too hard. I think compliments are a girls best friend not diamonds. So don’t forget to give your little lady or lady crush a compliment when you see her. At the least it will make her smile or blush.
Man Purse

Men are lucky in the fact they don’t have to carry a purse and they can just stuff their wallet, phone, and keys in their pockets. But when you do need a bag to carry those miscellaneous or work stuff people always ask for my advice on what messenger bags I suggest. Here are some of my favorites:
- Jack Spade- Canvas & Leather Supply Brief $365
- Freitag Messenger- F13 Top Cat Messenger ~$300
- Mission Workshop- The Monty $120
- Chrome- Mini Metro Buck Bag small $120
